From Treehouses to Swing Beds: A Look Inside a Rustic Hawaiian Home
In this day and age, it’s not enough to just have an immaculate home; you have to share it with the world! And if you’re lucky enough to live in Hawaii, why not use your home as the next stop on HGTV? Fans of Tarek and Christina El Moussa’s hit show will be drooling over this exquisitely rustic home that’s just oozing with eco-friendly appeal.
The exterior
Nestled among the trees on the Big Island of Hawaii, this rustic home looks like something straight out of a fairytale. With its wooden exterior and lush greenery, the home blends in seamlessly with its natural surroundings. But the real magic of this place is found inside, where a treehouse and swing beds await. Yes, you read that right—this lovely little house has both of those!
Meanwhile, the swing beds are located just outside one of two decks off the master bedroom suite.
The open concept kitchen/living room
The kitchen and living room are connected by a large, open doorway, making the space feel bright and airy. The rustic wooden beams on the ceiling add character and charm, while the greenery throughout the space creates a tranquil, nature-inspired atmosphere. The swing beds are a unique touch that makes this home truly one-of-a-kind. And of course, the treehouse is the perfect place for kids (or adults!) to play and explore. We also love how there’s a side porch off the bedroom for easy access during those late night trips to use the bathroom. With so many great features and beautiful details, it’s no wonder this rustic Hawaiian home was featured in Better Homes & Gardens!
The treehouse
Nestled in the branches of a sprawling tree, this treehouse is the perfect spot for taking in the lush greenery that surrounds the property. A swing bed hangs from the ceiling, providing a place to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. stairs lead down to a small deck, where you can enjoy even more of the natural beauty that surrounds this rustic Hawaiian home. Steps take you back up to the main level, where an outdoor kitchen features an industrial-style grill. One side of the house is completely open and offers a panoramic view of both mountains and ocean below.
The ground floor includes a guest room with a lofted queen-sized bed, plus two other bedrooms with full beds; one has an attached bathroom while the other shares one with the loft area above it.
The swing beds
In the corner of the property, there’s a small treehouse. And just beyond that, there are two swing beds. The perfect place to relax and take in the stunning surroundings. One swings out over the water for an even more spectacular view. It’s also a great spot for playing hide-and-seek with little ones as they scramble from bed to bed, giggling all the way. But the treehouse is no stranger to playtime either – my husband has written his thoughts down while perched up high on one of its many branches, overlooking the grounds below.
